The Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 is a compact 2-in/4-out USB audio interface designed for recording, streaming, mixing, and mobile production. It features 32-bit converters operating at up to 192kHz, dual Tone Shaping Preamps, Auto-Gain, Clip Protection, a full-colour Smart Display, and USB bus-powered operation for use with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone.
Its two Tone Shaping Preamps provide up to 60dB of gain, with three selectable character modes on each channel. Warmth adds the rounded character of a tube preamp, Focus provides solid-state clarity, and Shine offers the open character of a British Class A circuit. Each channel also has independent 48V phantom power, while two front-panel hi-Z inputs provide dedicated connections for instruments.
Auto-Gain automatically sets recording levels for quick setup, while Clip Protection helps prevent unexpected peaks from affecting recordings. The full-colour Smart Display provides visual feedback for inputs, levels, and settings, and remote preamp control is available through the UAD Console app and LUNA. Built-in loopback also allows live sources to be blended with computer audio for podcasts, livestreams, and video calls.
The Volt 2 Gen 2 includes the UAD Volt Studio bundle with 15+ UAD plugins and instruments, along with LUNA, Melodyne Essential, and additional software. Its USB bus-powered design supports portable recording setups, while the rugged construction is designed for long-term use.
