The Universal Audio SD-3 Dynamic Microphone brings five iconic dynamic microphone sounds into one rugged, easy-to-place instrument microphone. Designed for snare drums, guitar cabinets, and other high-SPL sources, the SD-3 combines a hand-selected dynamic capsule with Universal Audio's Hemisphere microphone modeling technology for exceptional recording flexibility.
Included with the SD-3, the Hemisphere modeling plug-in gives you access to five classic dynamic microphone models, allowing you to explore different tonal characters without changing microphones. The modeled microphone collection includes options suited to snare drums, toms, guitar cabinets, vocals, and other loud instruments, making the SD-3 a versatile addition to any studio microphone locker.
Hemisphere goes beyond microphone selection with adjustable proximity, axis, and filter controls. These parameters let you virtually change the microphone's distance, placement angle, and tonal response, even after tracking. This gives you the freedom to fine-tune your recordings without physically repositioning the microphone or recording the part again.
Built for demanding studio use, the SD-3 features a rugged all-metal construction and a dynamic capsule capable of handling extremely high SPL. Its compact design makes it easy to position around drum kits, guitar cabinets, and other instruments, while the vintage-inspired aesthetic adds classic style to your setup. Orders that may incur a shipping surcharge:
- Large and Heavy items (Large Amps and Cabinets, Pianos, Drum Kits)
- Delivery to Remote/ Rural Areas
Customers outside of Australian Metro areas please be advised that we cannot offer free shipping on bulky items to certain rural areas.
If this applies to your order we will be in contact ASAP after checkout. This may result in a partial shipping cost after checkout or orders being refunded and cancelled due to our usual courier services being unable to service certain rural areas.
We apologise in advance if this affects you. Please feel free to contact us prior to checkout for more information.
Drop Ship Orders Drop ship orders are shipped directly from our Australian based suppliers. Please allow for 1-2 extra business days for drop ship orders to be dispatched.
Delivery Time Orders are dispatched within 1 -2 business days and usually takes 2-5 business days to arrive within Australia. If for any reason there may be a delay, we will contact you within 2 business days. Delivery times may take longer for rural/ remote areas.
If you have any concerns, or require an item to be delivered by a certain date, please contact us so that we can try our best help you receive your order on time.
Tracking Your Order Tracking details will be emailed to you as soon as your order has been processed for shipping. If you are having trouble tracking your order, please feel free to contact us for assistance!
Returns Procedure
- Read the full Returns Policy HERE To initiate a return please provide the requested information in the "Returns & Exchanges Form". We will get back to you as possible with a Return Authorisation and instructions.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in contact to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, we will process the return as a refund, exchange or store credit as quickly as possible.
30-Day Returns Policy Here at Sky Music, we want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your new product for any reason you may return it for a refund, exchange or store credit within 30 days of purchase. Please see the full policy for conditions, exemptions and procedures. For metro-Melbourne orders we charge a flat rate of $18 for change of mind swaps and exchanges & returns and staff will advise for interstate, rural and Victorian areas outside of the metro-Melbourne area.
