The Thomastik-Infeld Infeld Blue IB03 (DTIB03) violin D-string offers a focused, brilliant tonal core combined with fast articulation and direct bow response. Designed to bring clarity and harmonic radiance to the middle register, this string helps soloists and orchestral players cut through dense ensembles while retaining a supple feel under the fingers.
Engineered around an advanced synthetic composite core wound with durable hydronalium, the IB03 ensures exceptional pitch stability across changing temperature and humidity conditions. It features a copper ball end with green silk winding at the tailpiece end and is color-coded with blue silk winding at the peg end to denote the Infeld Blue family.
Calibrated in medium gauge for full-size 4/4 violins with a standard vibrating string length of 32.5 cm (12.8"), the IB03 operates at a tension of 4.6 kg (10.1 lb), delivering an even feel and smooth tonal transition across the instrument.
