Thomastik Dominant Pro DP04 violin strings serve as the powerful, deep foundation of the violin, delivering a remarkably warm, rich sound with great room-filling projection and a broad spectrum of dark sound colors. Designed as the core G string for the DP100 set, it combines effortless bow response with immediate clarity, ensuring low-register notes ring out with authority without becoming muddy.
Featuring a precision pure silver winding over an advanced synthetic core, the DP04 is engineered to work in tandem with the novel silver-alloy DP03A D-string to effectively suppress buzz tones and wolf tones. It reacts immediately to the bow, offering high resistance to bow pressure across extreme dynamic levels from delicate pianissimos to forceful fortissimos.
With an instrument-friendly medium tension of 10.1 lbs (4.6 kg), this string supports natural acoustic resonance without overloading new or historic instruments, providing rapid settling time, rock-solid tuning stability, and a supple, resilient feel under the left hand.
