Thomastik Dominant Pro DP41 cello strings redefine past tonal ideals, drawing inspiration from the sound of a tube amplifier and the playing possibilities created by an innovative metal core. The string features an airy, light sound character with pronounced, brilliant overtones and a pleasantly warm basic timbre with plenty of texture, making it a sheer joy to play.
Engineered for the highest modulation capacity of timbres and sound structure, the string allows cellists to form their sound with incredible brilliance or to be warm, round, and saturated depending on playing style. The sound structure can be wonderfully modulated from fine-grained to coarse-grained.
Featuring a carbon steel core with chrome winding and a brass ball end, the DP41 delivers 40.1 lbs (18.2 kg) of medium tension for 4/4 cellos with a 70 cm (27.6") vibrating string length, serving as the foundational 1st string of the Dominant Pro cello series.
