The Thomastik 3885 Spirocore Bass Orchestra String Set is designed for 3/4-size double basses and features the distinctive Spirocore spiral rope core with chrome winding. This construction delivers a focused sound with a brilliant, clear upper register and powerful low end, making it well suited to dark-sounding instruments.
Spirocore strings provide responsive translation of left-hand and bow impulses into an expressive, powerful sound. They offer long sustain, strong projection, growl, punch and power, together with a broad dynamic range and a wide variety of tonal colours.
This complete four-string medium-gauge set is made for 3/4 double basses with a 104cm vibrating string length. The strings use aluminium tailpiece ends and crimped ball ends, providing a dependable setup for orchestral and other professional double bass applications.
