The Martin 5-28 Terz Standard Series Acoustic Guitar – Natural with Aging Toner revives one of Martin's most historic and inspiring instruments in a premium Standard Series package. Tuned a minor third higher than a standard acoustic guitar, the compact Size 5 Terz produces a bright, shimmering voice with remarkable clarity and lush harmonic overtones while retaining familiar chord shapes and fingerings. Favoured by renowned artists including John Mayer, Sting, and Marty Robbins, the Terz guitar offers a fresh creative perspective for songwriting, recording, fingerstyle playing, and ensemble performance.
Despite its compact parlor-sized body and short 21.38-inch scale length, the 5-28 Terz is crafted to the same exacting standards as Martin's iconic Standard Series instruments. A solid spruce top with traditional X-bracing is paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, delivering exceptional projection, warmth, and bell-like articulation. The comfortable Modified Low Oval select hardwood neck, ebony fingerboard with a full 1.75-inch nut width, vintage-style open-gear tuners, and elegant Style 28 appointments complete this heirloom-quality acoustic. Orders that may incur a shipping surcharge:
- Large and Heavy items (Large Amps and Cabinets, Pianos, Drum Kits)
- Delivery to Remote/ Rural Areas
Customers outside of Australian Metro areas please be advised that we cannot offer free shipping on bulky items to certain rural areas.
If this applies to your order we will be in contact ASAP after checkout. This may result in a partial shipping cost after checkout or orders being refunded and cancelled due to our usual courier services being unable to service certain rural areas.
We apologise in advance if this affects you. Please feel free to contact us prior to checkout for more information.
Drop Ship Orders Drop ship orders are shipped directly from our Australian based suppliers. Please allow for 1-2 extra business days for drop ship orders to be dispatched.
Delivery Time Orders are dispatched within 1 -2 business days and usually takes 2-5 business days to arrive within Australia. If for any reason there may be a delay, we will contact you within 2 business days. Delivery times may take longer for rural/ remote areas.
If you have any concerns, or require an item to be delivered by a certain date, please contact us so that we can try our best help you receive your order on time.
Tracking Your Order Tracking details will be emailed to you as soon as your order has been processed for shipping. If you are having trouble tracking your order, please feel free to contact us for assistance!
Returns Procedure
- Read the full Returns Policy HERE To initiate a return please provide the requested information in the "Returns & Exchanges Form". We will get back to you as possible with a Return Authorisation and instructions.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in contact to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, we will process the return as a refund, exchange or store credit as quickly as possible.
30-Day Returns Policy Here at Sky Music, we want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your new product for any reason you may return it for a refund, exchange or store credit within 30 days of purchase. Please see the full policy for conditions, exemptions and procedures. For metro-Melbourne orders we charge a flat rate of $18 for change of mind swaps and exchanges & returns and staff will advise for interstate, rural and Victorian areas outside of the metro-Melbourne area.

*** Martin Spruce Availability Update ***
Due to constraints surrounding the procurement of old-growth Sitka spruce, Martin Guitar will allow the use of Lutz spruce in combination with Sitka spruce as needed.
Martin will be utilising both Sitka and Lutz spruce throughout their line of instruments. This will allow Martin to continue to provide the best quality spruce tops while meeting the significant demand for our products.
Lutz spruce is a naturally occurring hybrid of Sitka spruce and white spruce and grows in the same geographical areas as Sitka spruce. Lutz also has similar tonal and visual characteristics compared to Sitka spruce.
Models affected: All models that currently utilise Sitka spruce.
