The Guild D-40 Traditional Acoustic Guitar embodies the features that have made the D-40 one of Guild's most beloved and revered models. Its high-grade solid Sitka spruce top is paired with solid African mahogany back and sides, delivering a powerful, warm and balanced dreadnought voice with excellent projection and resonance.
Scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing provides added power, nuance and responsiveness, while the comfortable C-shaped three-piece mahogany and walnut neck offers a familiar playing feel. An Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, authentic dovetail neck joint, compensated bone saddle and bone nut complete this traditionally crafted acoustic guitar.
The Natural gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish showcases the beauty of the premium tonewoods, complemented by a tortoiseshell pickguard and binding, Tortoiseshell and ABS Rings rosette, genuine mother-of-pearl Guild Peak and Chesterfield headstock logos and nickel-plated open-gear tuners. Each D-40 Traditional includes a hand-signed, numbered certificate of authenticity and a Guild humidified hardshell case. Proudly made in the USA and available from Sky Music Australia.

Orders that may incur a shipping surcharge:
- Large and Heavy items (Large Amps and Cabinets, Pianos, Drum Kits)
- Delivery to Remote/ Rural Areas
Customers outside of Australian Metro areas please be advised that we cannot offer free shipping on bulky items to certain rural areas.
If this applies to your order we will be in contact ASAP after checkout. This may result in a partial shipping cost after checkout or orders being refunded and cancelled due to our usual courier services being unable to service certain rural areas.
We apologise in advance if this affects you. Please feel free to contact us prior to checkout for more information.
Drop Ship Orders Drop ship orders are shipped directly from our Australian based suppliers. Please allow for 1-2 extra business days for drop ship orders to be dispatched.
Delivery Time Orders are dispatched within 1 -2 business days and usually takes 2-5 business days to arrive within Australia. If for any reason there may be a delay, we will contact you within 2 business days. Delivery times may take longer for rural/ remote areas.
If you have any concerns, or require an item to be delivered by a certain date, please contact us so that we can try our best help you receive your order on time.
Tracking Your Order Tracking details will be emailed to you as soon as your order has been processed for shipping. If you are having trouble tracking your order, please feel free to contact us for assistance!
Returns Procedure
- Read the full Returns Policy HERE To initiate a return please provide the requested information in the "Returns & Exchanges Form". We will get back to you as possible with a Return Authorisation and instructions.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in contact to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, we will process the return as a refund, exchange or store credit as quickly as possible.
30-Day Returns Policy Here at Sky Music, we want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your new product for any reason you may return it for a refund, exchange or store credit within 30 days of purchase. For metro-Melbourne orders we charge a flat rate of $18 for change of mind swaps and exchanges & returns and staff will advise for interstate, rural and Victorian areas outside of the metro-Melbourne area.
