The J-45™ is the best-selling Gibson acoustic model of all time. Nicknamed “The Workhorse” and introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of the Gibson round-shoulder dreadnought line. World-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection, the J-45 has been refined to carry this legacy to new heights. The Gibson J-45 Standard delivers incredible dynamic range, warm mids, and tight, punchy bass. It now comes equipped with the Gibson-exclusive, custom-voiced Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ pickup system, delivering the guitar’s unique voice and every nuance of your playing with exceptional realism when amplified.
The Gibson J-45 Standard features a round-shoulder dreadnought body crafted with solid mahogany back and sides paired with a solid Sitka spruce top. Scalloped X-bracing supports the top, which is framed with multi-ply binding, while the back features single-ply binding. The gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish completes the classic appearance that has made the J-45 a musical and cultural icon since its introduction.
The mahogany neck features a fast, comfortable SlimTaper™ profile and is secured to the body with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint for superior tonal transfer and sustain. The neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard equipped with 20 standard frets and simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The headstock displays the Gibson logo inlaid in mother of pearl and is equipped with high-quality Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines, which work with the TUSQ® nut to ensure smooth, reliable tuning with excellent stability.
The traditional belly-up bridge is crafted from rosewood and equipped with a TUSQ saddle and bridge pins, while a teardrop tortoiseshell pickguard reinforces the familiar J-45 aesthetic.
Inside, the J-45 Standard is now equipped with the all-new Gibson-exclusive Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ pickup system. This active system uses two lightweight sensors mounted on the internal bridge plate. The sensors are matched with optimized individual preamps to deliver full-bodied, amplified acoustic tone that lets the guitar’s character and personality come through when amplified, with no impact on the unamplified tone. The Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ system offers comparable gain-before-feedback to an under-saddle pickup. The system also includes soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls that are quick and easy to access while playing, and all but invisible to your audience.
The inclusion of high-quality, natural-sounding electronics makes the J-45 Standard ready for the stage, studio, rehearsal room, and wherever the road leads next, from the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case.

- Large and Heavy items (Large Amps and Cabinets, Pianos, Drum Kits)
- Delivery to Remote/ Rural Areas
Customers outside of Australian Metro areas please be advised that we cannot offer free shipping on bulky items to certain rural areas.
If this applies to your order we will be in contact ASAP after checkout. This may result in a partial shipping cost after checkout or orders being refunded and cancelled due to our usual courier services being unable to service certain rural areas.
We apologise in advance if this affects you. Please feel free to contact us prior to checkout for more information.
Drop Ship Orders Drop ship orders are shipped directly from our Australian based suppliers. Please allow for 1-2 extra business days for drop ship orders to be dispatched.
Delivery Time Orders are dispatched within 1 -2 business days and usually takes 2-5 business days to arrive within Australia. If for any reason there may be a delay, we will contact you within 2 business days. Delivery times may take longer for rural/ remote areas.
If you have any concerns, or require an item to be delivered by a certain date, please contact us so that we can try our best help you receive your order on time.

Returns Procedure
- Read the full Returns Policy HERE To initiate a return please provide the requested information in the "Returns & Exchanges Form". We will get back to you as possible with a Return Authorisation and instructions.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in contact to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, we will process the return as a refund, exchange or store credit as quickly as possible.
30-Day Returns Policy Here at Sky Music, we want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your new product for any reason you may return it for a refund, exchange or store credit within 30 days of purchase. For metro-Melbourne orders we charge a flat rate of $18 for change of mind swaps and exchanges & returns and staff will advise for interstate, rural and Victorian areas outside of the metro-Melbourne area.
