The Fender Custom Shop John 5 "Phantom" Telecaster in Black is available now at Sky Music Australia. Crafted by the Fender Custom Shop, this guitar is built to match John 5's relentless and aggressive playing style, pushing the classic Telecaster platform into darker, heavier territory.
Featuring a 2-piece select alder body with Ultra Contours and a gloss urethane finish, the "Phantom" combines ergonomic body sculpting with a maple neck carved to a smooth Modern "C" profile. The 10" to 14" compound-radius flat-laminated ebony fingerboard is fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets, Mother of Pearl dot inlays, and Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots for visibility on dark stages. Sonically, it is driven by a pair of high-output DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers (DP220BK bridge and DP219BK neck) controlled via a single master volume and a 3-position toggle switch. Anchored by a recessed Floyd Rose Original double-locking tremolo with an R7 locking nut, it delivers rock-solid tuning stability through the most extreme dive-bombs. It includes a Deluxe Black Hardshell Case, strap, and Certificate of Authenticity.
Features
- Fender Custom Shop Build: Reimagined Telecaster designed specifically for high-speed virtuosity, chicken pickin', and metal.
- DiMarzio D Activator Humbuckers: Features a DP220BK bridge and DP219BK neck pickup for tight, cutting bridge attack and warm vocal neck tones.
- Floyd Rose Original Tremolo: Recessed double-locking tremolo system paired with an R7 locking nut for extreme pitch bending stability.
- Compound-Radius Ebony Fingerboard: 10" to 14" compound radius offers easy low-register chording and choke-free high-register string bending.
- Luminlay Side Dots: Glow-in-the-dark side dot position markers ensure fast neck navigation in dim lighting.
- Deluxe Accessories Included: Ships complete with a Deluxe Black Hardshell Case, leather guitar strap, and Certificate of Authenticity.
