First introduced in 1962 as Gibson’s second square shoulder acoustic model (after the Hummingbird™), the Gibson Dove™ is one of the most recognizable acoustic guitars ever made. It has been played by legends such as Elvis, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Alex Lifeson, and Frank Hannon. Now, Epiphone, in partnership with Gibson Custom, proudly presents the Epiphone 1963 Dove Reissue, an incredibly faithful recreation of the iconic early Dove models from 1963. This exquisite acoustic guitar features a thermally aged solid spruce top reinforced with traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn solid spruce. The back and sides are crafted from solid, figured maple, delivering a bright, clear tone with slightly more bass than a Hummingbird, creating a well-balanced sound suitable for a wide range of musical styles. The one-piece, thermally-aged mahogany neck has a rounded profile and is capped with a bound rosewood fretboard with 20 frets and split parallelogram mother-of-pearl inlays.

The 1963 Dove Reissue is richly ornamented and instantly recognizable. The body features multi-ply top and back binding, and the dove-shaped rosewood bridge plate has two mother-of-pearl dove inlays. A compensated bone saddle ensures precise intonation, and the nut and bridge pins are also bone. The iconic Dove pickguard showcases a mother-of-pearl dove. On the headstock, Kluson® Waffleback tuners with metal Keystone buttons offer stable tuning. The headstock features a two-ply white and black truss rod cover engraved “DOVE,” while the Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown are inlaid in aged mother-of-pearl. Completing the vintage aesthetic, the Gibson-style “open book” headstock has the Inspired by Gibson Custom double diamond logo etched on the rear.

For modern performance, the 1963 Dove Reissue comes equipped with a built-in L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze VTC preamp and under-saddle piezo pickup system, making it stage and studio-ready. A Red Line-inspired hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics is included for protection during travel or gigs. Available at Sky Music Australia, this reissue combines vintage elegance, premium tonewoods, and modern electronics for an exceptional playing experience.
