The EarthQuaker Devices ZEQD-Pre Preamp Pedal is a powerful, all-analog preamp designed to deliver authentic amp-like tone, dynamic response, and professional flexibility straight from your pedalboard. Created through a landmark collaboration between EarthQuaker Devices and Dr. Z Amplification, this pedal brings genuine tube-driven character to guitarists who demand expressive feel, rich harmonics, and hands-on control.
Driven by a real EF86 pentode tube—the same style used in Dr. Z’s highly regarded amplifiers—the ZEQD-Pre adds depth, warmth, and musical touch sensitivity to any setup. Placed at the end of your signal chain, it acts as a complete amplifier front end, offering everything from pristine clarity to harmonically rich grit. The intuitive 3-band EQ allows precise tone sculpting, whether you’re refining your amp’s voice, enhancing a pedal-based rig, or adding realism to a digital or modeling setup.
A dedicated Boost footswitch provides instant volume lift for solos, with its own Level control for clean, full-range emphasis that cuts through the mix without altering your core tone. When engaged, the EQ is bypassed for a wide-open boost feel, effectively giving you two distinct tonal modes in one pedal.
For modern players, the ZEQD-Pre goes even further. A switchable analog cabinet simulation makes direct recording and backline-free live performances simple and natural, while the Cab Bypass option allows seamless integration with external IR loaders or amp modelers. Added features like a balanced XLR DI output, headphone output, and ground lift make this pedal a true all-in-one solution for stage, studio, and silent practice.

Orders that may incur a shipping surcharge:
- Large and Heavy items (Large Amps and Cabinets, Pianos, Drum Kits)
- Delivery to Remote/ Rural Areas
Customers outside of Australian Metro areas please be advised that we cannot offer free shipping on bulky items to certain rural areas.
If this applies to your order we will be in contact ASAP after checkout. This may result in a partial shipping cost after checkout or orders being refunded and cancelled due to our usual courier services being unable to service certain rural areas.
We apologise in advance if this affects you. Please feel free to contact us prior to checkout for more information.
Drop Ship Orders Drop ship orders are shipped directly from our Australian based suppliers. Please allow for 1-2 extra business days for drop ship orders to be dispatched.
Delivery Time Orders are dispatched within 1 -2 business days and usually takes 2-5 business days to arrive within Australia. If for any reason there may be a delay, we will contact you within 2 business days. Delivery times may take longer for rural/ remote areas.
If you have any concerns, or require an item to be delivered by a certain date, please contact us so that we can try our best help you receive your order on time.
Tracking Your Order Tracking details will be emailed to you as soon as your order has been processed for shipping. If you are having trouble tracking your order, please feel free to contact us for assistance!
Returns Procedure
- Read the full Returns Policy HERE To initiate a return please provide the requested information in the "Returns & Exchanges Form". We will get back to you as possible with a Return Authorisation and instructions.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in contact to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, we will process the return as a refund, exchange or store credit as quickly as possible.
30-Day Returns Policy Here at Sky Music, we want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your new product for any reason you may return it for a refund, exchange or store credit within 30 days of purchase. Please see the full policy for conditions, exemptions and procedures. For metro-Melbourne orders we charge a flat rate of $18 for change of mind swaps and exchanges & returns and staff will advise for interstate, rural and Victorian areas outside of the metro-Melbourne area.
