Bring authentic early-1960s Jazz Bass character to your instrument with the Bare Knuckle '60 HF 4-String J-Bass Set, available from Sky Music Australia. Designed to accurately recreate the sought-after “stack pot” Jazz Bass tone, this hand-wound set delivers bright, articulate individual pickup tones and a deep, warm vintage sound when both coils are blended.
The '60 HF J Bass pickups are hand-wound with 42AWG Heavy Formvar wire to the original specification. Each coil is powered by hand-bevelled Alnico V magnets with a pair of magnetic poles for each string. The slightly narrower neck coil is RWRP, providing full hum-cancelling operation when both pickups are used together. Individually, each coil delivers precise dynamic attack, exceptional clarity, firm lows, and bell-like high-end articulation.
Combining both pickups produces the deep and warm vintage J Bass tone associated with the original deluxe models, while maintaining full hum cancellation. The set is an excellent choice for alder, ash, poplar, and basswood basses and works particularly well for fretless playing across blues, country, jazz, funk, reggae, indie, pop, Britpop, classic rock, and metal.

Customers outside of Australian Metro areas please be advised that we cannot offer free shipping on bulky items to certain rural areas.
If this applies to your order we will be in contact ASAP after checkout. This may result in a partial shipping cost after checkout or orders being refunded and cancelled due to our usual courier services being unable to service certain rural areas.

Drop Ship Orders Drop ship orders are shipped directly from our Australian based suppliers. Please allow for 1-2 extra business days for drop ship orders to be dispatched.
Delivery Time Orders are dispatched within 1 -2 business days and usually takes 2-5 business days to arrive within Australia. If for any reason there may be a delay, we will contact you within 2 business days. Delivery times may take longer for rural/ remote areas.
If you have any concerns, or require an item to be delivered by a certain date, please contact us so that we can try our best help you receive your order on time.

Returns Procedure
- Read the full Returns Policy HERE To initiate a return please provide the requested information in the "Returns & Exchanges Form". We will get back to you as possible with a Return Authorisation and instructions.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in contact to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, we will process the return as a refund, exchange or store credit as quickly as possible.
30-Day Returns Policy Here at Sky Music, we want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your new product for any reason you may return it for a refund, exchange or store credit within 30 days of purchase. For metro-Melbourne orders we charge a flat rate of $18 for change of mind swaps and exchanges & returns and staff will advise for interstate, rural and Victorian areas outside of the metro-Melbourne area.
