    Sky Music Customer Lookup ("the extension") is an internal Chrome extension published by Sky Music (Melbourne, Australia) for use by its staff. This policy explains what data the extension handles.

    What the extension does

    The extension lets a staff member who is signed in to Sky Music's sales application search customers and sale orders, and look up related shipments in MachShip, from a Chrome side panel.

    Data the extension accesses

    • Search terms you type (a customer name, phone number, email address, or order number). These are sent to Sky Music's sales application to perform the lookup.
    • Customer and order records from Sky Music's sales application (customer and contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, order history, amounts owing). These are returned by the sales application and displayed in the panel. They are held only in memory for the current panel session and are not written to disk.
    • Shipment records from MachShip (consignment references, recipient names, carrier, tracking status). These are read using an API token the user enters and are displayed in the panel. They are not stored.
    • Settings entered by the user on the extension's options page: an optional sales application URL, a MachShip API token, and an optional MachShip company ID. These are saved in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.sync), which means Chrome may sync them across the user's own signed-in Chrome profiles. The token is used only to authenticate requests to MachShip.

    Where data goes

    All requests are made directly from the user's browser to:

    • https://salesapp.playtest.tech – Sky Music's own sales application, operated by Sky Music. Requests are authenticated by the user's existing login session.
    • https://live.machship.com – MachShip, Sky Music's shipping platform, authenticated by the user's API token.

    No data is sent to any other party. The extension contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code, and does not load remote code. The only other network request is for a font stylesheet from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com), which does not receive any extension data.

    Data sharing and sale

    The extension does not sell, share, or transfer user data to anyone. Data is used only for the extension's single purpose: showing customer, order and shipment information to the staff member performing the lookup.

    Your controls

    • Remove the MachShip token or the sales application URL at any time from the extension's settings page.
    • Uninstalling the extension removes all stored settings.
    • Access to customer data is governed by the user's own sales application and MachShip accounts and by Sky Music's internal policies.
